Rentals
Our theaters are sometimes available for rental. Pricing can vary depending on the auditorium, the day and date of use, and the time of use. Generally speaking, evenings and weekends are more expensive than weekdays and afternoons.
We do have a microcinema that is quite popular with private parties and independent filmmakers. It seats 31 in comfortable stadium style modern cinema chairs, has Dolby 5.1 surround sound, and a Panasonic video projector with a Sony BluRay DVD player. There is also a small platform stage in the room. Outside food and beverage is allowed, but no outside alcohol, glass bottles or heating devices are allowed.
The Microcinema rental cost is $50 per hour for a Monday-through-Thursday day, with a 2 hour minimum, and $100 per hour for a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, with a 2 hour minimum. There is no time limit on the rental and it can take place anytime between 3pm and 11pm. You must provide your own DVD for viewing.
To inquire about renting the 31 SEAT DVD MICROCINEMA, email: Ian Judge at ijudge@feitheatres.com. Please use “Microcinema” in your subject line.
The Microcinema is currently booked all Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through May 2012; additionally it is never available on Thursdays due to the ongoing AWKWARD COMPLIMENT weekly improv show.
Our larger cinemas are also sometimes available for rental, though they can only show 35mm film, and not video or DVD. The pricing varies but is exponentially higher than the private microcinema. Cinema 2 seats 120, Cinema 3 seats 180, Cinema 4 seats 110 and Cinema 5 seats 175.
Our main theatre of 900 seats is also available for rental. It is both a film space and a live theater space, with a full theatrical stage. The theater seats 399 on the orchestra level and the balance of 500 seats in the balcony. The stage is approximately 41′ wide and 22′ deep, with a 32′ wide proscenium. An Orchestra Pit that holds around 16 players is available; there is an additional $150 rental fee to have the pit cover removed. For performers there are two private dressing rooms, a third semi-private dressing room, a green room, and a bathroom. The main theater can show archival film prints in both 35mm and 70mm formats on a pair of beautifully maintained Norelco DP-70 projectors, and features Dolby 7.1 EX Digital Sound, with two subwoofers and 24 surround speakers throughout the auditorium for cinema presentations.
Theatrical and live event rentals must contract with independent vendors for lighting and sound production. Lighting is exclusively contracted with David Gruber Lighting Design, which owns and maintains the stage lighting (email gruberlights@gmail.com.) Sound vendor contacts who are familiar with the theater can be provided by management. Rental fees for the theater do not include any production services.
